Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Adoption

My fiancee has two children by a woman he never married. They are 12 and 14 1/2. He has visitation rights but she has full custody. Do I have any rights to the children? Can I adopt them? If we marry and break up, will I have visitation rights if they are still under 18 yrs? I care for these children very much.

Re: Adoption

The only way for you to adopt is for the mother to be deceased or to have her parental rights removed.

I doubt that the parents would allow you to have visitation rights if you divorce their father.

It could be done if all parties were to agree to do it.

I hope this information is helpful.
