adoption case 2 years old just found out about, they served my father who has same name he never told me. her mother told me last month to come see my daughter, when arrived the stepfather braced to punch me, then said I can see my daughter but not like this or at this time, all the police know me at two departments, everyone at the court knows me, they all abuse me, they tell me there is nothing they can do when I know they can, Mexicans are not my favorite people, but so are anyone who abuse me, I don't like to be told to go see a lawyer when ppl know I have no money and I know family law and am not violent although a have many protection orders in the past because my family use law enforcement to modulate their life to their desires. daughters mother now have two protection orders or restraining orders I don't know which, they are non aggravated I am non violent. I am the biological father and there is court ordered parent child relationship saying I am joint conservator and there was a positive dna test in 1999. Please don't respond if you are going to tell me to see a lawyer if you cannot or do not want to get involved or help. I have been denied from legal aid because they say my case is too complex for the funding they have.

Ok, I won't tell you to see a lawyer.

Here are some suggestions --

You can go to the courthouse and ask for the last court order regarding this child. You can also ask to see the file. You cannot remove any papers from the file but you can look at it and try to figure out what has occurred in court.

To get a copy of a court document costs approximately $1 per page so take cash or a credit card with you. Most courthouses will not accept personal checks.

If a parental termination has occurred, the file might be sealed. If so, you cannot get a copy of any document in the "sealed" file. But if the clerk at the courthouse tell you the file is "sealed" then you can assume that the worst has happened.

If your parental rights were terminated, then you have no rights to this child. The old court order listing you as a joint conservator has been over-ridden by a new court order.

It appears that the child is a teen-ager. When the child reaches the age of 18, you can contact the child directly. Also, the child can contact you. In Texas, at 18 a person becomes an adult with all the rights of an adult. They can do whatever they want.

I hope this answer has been helpful.

Good luck!
