Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Adult Adoption

I wish to adopt a woman whom I raised when she was a toddler (she was related to my ex-husband). For reasons too complicated to explain right now, I wasn't able to adopt her back then. She is now an adult and has a child of her own and we wish to assure the child's future as well as complete what we started so many years ago.

I live in California and she lives in Texas. How would we go about this since we live in different states? We'd like any court appearances to happen in Texas. Is this something we can do ourselves or does it require a lawyer? IIt would seem to be a very straightforward process, but I don't know how to begin.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Adult Adoption

Like some other aspects of the law, if you know what you're doing or want to spend the time how to figure it out, the adoption your seeking can be accomplished in a straightforward manner. I have experience in these matters and I can accomplish this for you in Texas in a relatively short time for a fair fee. Contact me by e-mail if you wish to discuss this further.

Re: Adult Adoption

Adult adoptions are pretty easy.

You can certainly try to do it yourselves. Go to any law library and try to figure it out.

If Harris County, Texas, is your jurisdiction, give me a call.

I charge for my time. I don't flat-rate cases.

Good luck!
