Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

The age a child can chose which parent to live with

Is there a new law in Texas that allows children to chose which parent they want to live with at the age of 10, or is the age still 12?

Since September 1, 1999, the age has been 10. But the child does not have an absolute right to choose. If a change is contested, a judge has to decide the issue based on the best interests of the child. One of the things the judge may take into account in making that decision is what the child wants (or says he wants).
