Alimony

Husband earns $70KYr, I earn $30K year, have a $250K home loan. Can I receive alimony if I keep the house in a divorce? For how long, what would the amount be?

You might be able to get temporary spousal support during the pendency of the divorce. At the time of the divorce, the judge may order spousal support, if you were married more than 10 years and the equities are disparate. The support is available for a maximum of 3 years, unless you establish permanent disability. Please consult an attorney if you wish to petition for support.
