Is Texas an alimony state?

Texas has temporary spousal support during the time the divorce is pending.

Spousal support can continue after the divorce is final for up to 3 years based on a limited number of situations. For example, if a woman has not worked outside the house for 20 years, she might need training to learn some job skills and she might be entitled to some support during the time she was in training.
