Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Alter my name.

My full name has both my parents last name as it appears on my birth certificate. I want to just use my father's last name for my legal documents. But because my birth certificate shows my father and mother's last name creates a problem because often they assume that my father's last name is my middle name and not my last name.
