Amended Pleading Name Change

I have subitted an Original Petition for Name Change for an Adult and was told by the Judge that I needed to subitt an ''Amended Pleading'' and to ''track the Family Code''. Since the have taken my money I'm stuck to find out what this is supposed to mean. What should I do? Please help

Well, you can hire an attorney to complete a proper petition or go to the law library and read the Family Code and the requirements it demands for your action.

The judge was being very nice. I do not know what you gave to the court but there are requirements in the family code and you need to find out any local court rules regarding pleadings. You can get those from the clerk of court. The other option is a lawyer.
