Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

annulment with no filed marriage liscense?

There is a couple that was married on January 1st of this year. Before the marriage liscense was signed and returned, they decided they wanted an annulment based on marital unfaithfulness. On January 11th, they shredded the liscense. According to canon law, I need to just make record of it in the church books. As far as civil/family law, I need to know if there need to be any legal proceedings involved, as I have not yet been able to find precedent for it in the law books. Is it necessary to even take this to the courts considering the circumstances? Is it a moot point with the courts? If it is, then it would save me a lot of trouble trying to find the US Law to reference in my church records, especially if there is no such law considering the liscense being shredded, and they only being together for 10 days.

I am not completely sure what you are asking in your question.

This couple is married and they need a divorce.

If the couple is in agreement and they don't want to fight, my office offers a do it yourself divorce kit for $100.

Please call me if you have any other questions.

Sometimes the phone is better than email.
