Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

appeal of divorce decree

My ex is appealing part of the property settlement

which was signed into a decree after a bench trial,

also requested by my ex. As of Sept. 2001 he has

NOT complied with the part of the decree that he

is NOT appealing. Is there ANY legal obligation to

participate with mediation prior to being heard by

the appellate court? I feel that he needs to pay for

this as we settled in 8-2000, he changed his mind

and wanted a trial, is still not satisfied with that so

he is appealing to put off his obligation. How can

I get him to comply with current orders?

Re: appeal of divorce decree

Discuss with your lawyer filing a Motion to Enforce. He will likely tell you that you may be able to obtain a writ of execution or a finding of contempt with money damages.
