Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Hi my name is Ashley and I am 16 years old living with my mom because my parents are divorced. I have younger sister who is just 18 months younger than I am and we live with parents who are alcoholics. Our mom has been an alcoholic for as long as I can remeber, but my father just over the years has started to drink heavily. Living situations are very bipolar and its getting unbarable. What are the laws about me moving out at the age of 17 if I live in Texas?

First, don't even think about leaving your younger sister behind in that mess. If you move out without your parents' permission, it's called "running away" and you will be returned to them.

I'm sorry you live in such miserable conditions. Have you considered calling CPS?
