Assault and attempted kidnapping
''what is the remidy in the law that protects children from the mother when she is attempting a kidnapping and committing assault on the family during a period of visitation (possesion) with the father.''and would she (mother) risk her parental rights?

Your questions leaves a lot of holes that need to be filled before an attorney can give you a definitive answer.
However, you can call the police.
You can go to a private attorney or the district attorney and get a protective order.
If you cannot qualify for a protective order, you might be able to qualify for a restraining order.
I recommend you meet with someone to discuss the details of your case.
