Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I am attempting to find out what, if any, relief can be requested in the following situation. Listed below is a brief summery of the details pertaining to the case which I am referring to.

The case is a Texas Family law Court case in which I am seeking a modification of a current custody order. During the original case I was the defendant. I cannot afford to hire legal counsel and was rejected by the legal aid department; therefor I drew up my own legal documents using a template provided by Texaslawhelp.org. If for some reason my legal documents are not correct can I petition for a Court appointed legal advocate? Surely there is some type of aid provided for parents being denied any and all contact from there children by an individual who is in contempt of court.

You won't get the Court to appoint a lawyer for you. This is a civil case.
