need to attend a temporary restraining order hearing

my son has been issued court papers for a tro and the question is it necessary for him to attend this court proceeding?

Yes, he should be present, and he should be represented by counsel. If children are involved, then decisions will be made regarding their future, his visitation rights, and his child support obligations. If property is involved the temporary use of that property will be decided. TCL
