Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
what can i do
the attorney general in san antonio texas, has failed me as a non custodial parent. as of sept 2006 i gain rights to my son and now may 2007, they still have me paying 580 in child support when i've givin them in person a copy of the new decree stating i only pay 300 a month. still no change and it is hurting my credit score due to the delinquent status they have me on. everytime i visit the office, i'am treated badly and im always the bad guy. please give me advice, or help me there's alot more to this story. in 2001, my employer was garnishing my check, but the check was never clearing the bank because of a bad acount. now the office stated it was my responsiblity to pay child support and theres nothing they can do to help. even though i have check stubs showing the garnishment, i wasnt credited the amount taken out of my wages for over one year. now im paying back for his negelet.

Did you provide the AG a certifiied copy of the court order? If not, suggest you do so and send it by certified mail, return reciept requested so you can prove they have it.
If you now have custody, I don't understand why the new order calls for you to pay ANY child support - unless the $300 amount is arrearage.
Regardng the mix up with the garnished funds, it sounds like your employer deducted the funds from your paycheck but kept writing hot checks to the AG.
Suggest you get the payment records from the AG office and forward them to an attorney to verify what happened and wht to do.
