Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Do I need an attorney to have my husband adopt my daughter? There is no one on her birth certificate, he has never been involved in her life, and I have no idea where he is.

You will definitely need an attorney. This is a process which can be complicated, but which you should be able to achieve. If you know the father, but do not know his whereabouts, then the court will appoint an attorney to represent (and try to find) the missing parent. I have handled many such cases and would be glad to visit with you and your husband about the steps necessary to accomplish the step parent adoption.
