Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Is an Attorney needed to change orders

I have requested my ex-husband in writing to switch weekends with me, so that my daugther can attend a family gathering we have every year at the same time. Do I need an attorney to change my orders? How do I contact the court for this type of change. My ex knows we have this every year, and continues to make this impossible.

It would be nice if the two of you could work out a compromise, but if it's his weekend or during his extended summer visitation he really doesn't have to change with you if he doesn't want to. You will need an attorney to handle the attempted modification of the Order for you.

If he agrees, then get your lawyer to file a Rule 11 to modify this portion of the order. If he doesn't agree, then you will need to get an order to modify. In both cases you will need an attorney to effect the changes.
