Can one attorney represent both parties in an uncontested divorce.. No children or community property

Personally, I think it is unethical. An attorney can represent both sides if both sides consent. I would assume that the attorney represents your spouse and I would ask my own attorney to look over the paper work before I sign it.

Having said that, I am often hired to draft paperwork for divorcing couples. But I make it clear that I represent one of them or the other but that I can explain it to both of them. I just can't give advice to the side I don't represent.
