Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I just got awarded joint custody of my 2 1/2 year old daughter. I live in Texas and she and her mother live in Chicago, Il. I have a court order with visitation rights. My question is if the court order is valid in Chicago. I don't want to go pick her up for the first time and have her mother tell me that the court order isn't valid or that I have no rights in Illinois.

Yes, the order is valid in all states.

Before you travel to Chicago, go to the courthouse and get a certified copy of the order to take with you. If there's any trouble, call the local police, and hope for the best. Interesting things can happen when you cross state lines with a custody order.
