Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Baby naming

I am a US citizen married to a Muslim woman. For the marriage I had to convert to Islam but am not required to change my name. However, when a Muslim couple has a child, Islamic law states the child must have an Islamic name. For birth certificate records, do I have to change my name in order to name my child, can I just use an assumed islamic name (not legally changed) or does it not matter...name the child whatever I wish?

Re: Baby naming

Maybe you can repost this question. You can name your child whatever you wish. Your legal name must be on the birth certificate as the father. You can't make up a new name for yourself on the birth certificate. I don't see the connection between the two questions.
