Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

back child support

My new husband and I recently found out that he was the father of an 19-month old baby. The mother had two men take the paternity test. We want to be involved in the baby's life now that we know. My question is, since she did not know who the father was, will we have to pay back child support to her and what rights do we have concerning custody?

Re: back child support

Child support arrears is routinely sought in these types of cases. It is usually spread out over 3-5 years. If the Court makes a finding that your husband is the father of the child, he can seek standard visitation ( although difficult for an infant) which is every other weekend And every other holiday.
