Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Back child support and providing insurance coverage
My husbands son recently turned 18 and my husband is no longer obligated to pay child support for him, however, he still owes $2500 in back child support that is being taken out of his paycheck each month. He received a letter from his employer which stated that he has a court order to him that requires them to enroll his son on his medical insurance and they have done so and are now payroll deducting for the cost of the insurance.
Why is he required to provide insurance coverage for his son who is 18 and he no longer is obligated to provide support for?

Re: Back child support and providing insurance coverage
I have no idea.
Normally after the child turns 18, the medical support is optional.
Your husband needs to talk to his employer.
