back child support

My son father went to prison for 11yrs my son was only 1yr well he was released in 2004 i had to take him to court for child support suied the guy for hiding his income he always so full of lies a real dead beat my son will be 17 in jan 09 I still have trouble getting child support to the day. My question can i get back child support on those 11yrs I mean I supported my son on my own no state assitance I always had a job it was tough but we made it.

Probably not. From what you said, you took the Dad to Court after he got out and got a child support order. Any retroactive support issues would have had to have been addressed then. If the Dad isn't paying like he should you may want to consider filing and enforcement against him.

If there was an order for him to pay child support in effect while he was in jail, you can file a motion to enforce that order. He will be entitled to claim that he was unable to pay during that period of time and the judge may agree.
