Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

back child support

My ex wife and I lived in Utah. I filed for divorce and the state of Utah set up a child support order. She moved with the children to Michigan and filed her own divorce. Utah says I was always paid up on child support and now the state of Michigan is trying to get back support. Doesn't the original support order hold? Do I have to pay this back support?

Re: back child support

This has nothing to do with Texas law. What you need is a Family Law attorney in Michigan who regularly deals with Michigan's child support collection agency and who can straighten out this mess with dueling divorces.

You are in a real pickle. I have never seen such people to deal with as in MI. You're going to have to prove to them that you have been paying according to the UT order. Good Luck.
