Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Banking funds

I have been divorced from my ex-wife for 11 years and have been re-married for 10 years. My ex-wife has full custody of my child. My wife has recently added my name to her account. Does my ex-wife have a right to request any more money besides the regular 20% taken out of my wages monthly for child support? since my wife's salary is 6 times what I make. Is my wife's money considered my money too legally can my ex-wife find a way to get a chunk of this money?

thanks

Humerto

Re: Banking funds

Section 154.069 of the Texas Family Code states that the court may not add any portion of the net resources of a spouse (your wife) to the net resources of an obligor (you) in order to calculate the amount of child support to be ordered. However, the court can take those factors into accout - not by directly adding in - but under an equity concept, to determine your support amount. The final determination depends on many fact driven questions.
