Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My ex boyfriend assaulted me over 3 weeks ago and I am pressing charges on him. Now, he is texting me and calling me saying that if I don't drop the charges on him, he is going to press charges on me saying that I punched him in the face. I have never laid a finger on my ex boyfriend and my friend was present when the incident happened - she saw everything, and knows I didn't touch him. Can he press charges on me?

Yes, he can ask the police to take a complaint, even if you never hit him. It's called "lying to the police."

What the police do with his complaint is up to them.

You wouldn't be the first person in history to be falsely accused of a crime.
