Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
My boyfriend said he didn't want anything to do with me or with the baby i am expecting. I told him that it was fine but that i was going to file for legal custody and now he says that he wants to put himself on child support so that i wont take the baby away is there any way i can still have legal custody?

Contact a family lawyer in your area. When your baby is born, your attorney will file a Suit Affecting Parent-Child Relationship, which will address issues of paternity, child support, conservatorship, possession and access. If you and your boyfriend can agree on these matters, then it will not be necessary to go to trial. If you cannot, then your attorney will address the issues through discovery, and set the case for trial. Often a Temporary Orders hearing is scheduled to set the ground rules while the case is pending.
I would talk to an family law attorney immediately - before the baby is born. You obviously don't understand what the term "legal custody" means. I think you would feel better if you talked to an attorney about legal custody, child support and parental rights. Happy pregnancy!
