Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My boyfriend just left me a month ago. We have a son who will be 2yrs old next week. My now ex was married and still legally married but has been separated from his wife for over 4 yrs. He has 3 other boys with his ex-wife. His pay check has been going to his ex wife and their children since he has been separated. He helps me financially only when he can, maybe a couple times a year. He is currently living in a one bedroom apartment with 2 friends.

What advice can I get about child custody and child support?
