Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My boyfriend and i have lived together for almost 3 years...we have a child who is 14 months old.

Since we are not married, but have a child what legal/financial rights do i have now that we are splitting-up.

You have the right to take the child with you when you leave.

You should go talk to the folks at the Attorney General's office about a paternity suit. The result of such a suit will be:

1. The father of the child will have guaranteed periods of court-ordered visitation.

2. You will receive child support every month, in a set amount.
