Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Me boyfriend is locked up and he has the petition of divorced filled but he is currently in State jail and is unable to attend court to finalize the divorce... His wife is contesting the divorce. What should he do? District Court states he needs to file a motion but It was not specified in the letter they sent him. All that it stated was that he needed to research it at the law library.

If he is going to represent himself, pro se, then he does need to research it at the law library. He also needs to make sure the court knows he is incarcerated, so that the hearing can be set up telephonically with him. A better option would be for him to hire a lawyer to represent him.
