Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
My boyfriend and I have a 2 month old baby together. He always yells at our son and he is starting to lose his temper with our son when he cries. Last Wednesday we were visiting his father with our son and my sister and my boyfriend gave some beer to our 2 month old son. I immediately confronted him about it and he automatically did it again because it made me mad. My boyfriends father was holding our son at the time and never stopped him. My sister and I both saw the whole thing. My boyfriend is a police officer and I am worried that if I leave him then we will both have joint custody over our son meaning I won't be able to have any control over what my boyfriend and his father does to our son. If we went to court over the custody battle of our son then even though he is an irresponsible parent would he still get partial custody? I just don't want him to see our son without me there to protect him. I am also worried that he will get whatever he wants since he is a police officer

There's no such thing as "partial custody."
Nobody goes to family court in Texas and gets "whatever he wants" just because he's a police officer. Texas Judges have seen lots of crummy cops.
You should (a) separate from the boyfriend - if you're living together - (2) file a paternity suit - if you don't have money for a lawyer, contact the Attorney General:

In Texas, it is a CRIME to allow your child to be in a dangerous situation.
When you go before the Judge (in your paternity suit), ask that the Judge order that Dad's visitation with the child be SUPERVISED.
