Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
My boyfriend's ex-wife is saying that I cannot have the child stay with me when my boyfriend goes to work because she is upset that he has moved on. there is nothing in the divorce decree or joint child custody papers that states that I cannot have her with me when the father is not around. The ex-wife threatens to call the cops on me, can she do this? Can she say who the child can and cannot be with if the parents have joint custody?

No, she can't do that. Just don't worry about it. If she denies visitation, then your boyfriend will have a basis to bring contempt charges against her. This is something that happens really often.
