Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My boyfriends mother wants to take us to court for grandparents rights. We have let her see our daughter once. We would have gladly done so more if she was at all civil to us. Now we are not interested in dealing with her at all. And we are moving across country in a month. Will we still be able to oppose anything she sets up with the court from our new residence? And if she is by the slim chance granted visitation, how does it work for out of state? This is worrying me very much. Thank you for your advice.

In Texas, grandparent rights are extremely limited. If she files suit, hire a lawyer to represent you. As a result of Supreme Court rulings, grandparent rights are also limited in other states, but you may want to verify the law in the state you are moving to.
