Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

really breaking contract

My husband's friend owns a security company and my husband was working ''under the table'' for advance loans and would keep working for advanced payment provided that my huband work off the debt and as long as my huband was not an offical employee, well my husband quit because his friend did not want to pay him for the days that he would be working the following week. my husband signed a printed out contract stating that he would pay his friend back the money he did not work off on a certain day. my husband showed up on that day but his friend was not there, so he made a police report to have documentation that he did do his part of the contract. is my husband still liable for that money owed, since he did make the effort after all.

Re: really breaking contract

In addition to Mr. Grissom's reply, there are serious holes in your explanation of the contract. It may well be that there is not a valid contract, which either party could enforce. These two people should sit down and negotiate a resolution to the debt owed.

If he didn't pay the money, then he owes the debt.
