Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Hello, my brother is facing a bit of a dilemma. A girl that he had been with had told him that she was pregnant with his baby.In February, she had the baby and they both signed the birth certificate. The baby has his last name as well. A couple months later (under pressure from our mother and myself) he took a DNA test and it came back that the baby was not his. He told the mother and she insisted that he retake the test with her present this time at the lab. This was in early June. The test came back June 8th negative again. After receiving these results, she filed child support with the attorney general June 9th. What can be done? He needs to get his name off the birth certificate because the baby is not his. We need some advice on how to move forward. Thank you

He needs to get an attorney as soon as possible. There are things that he can do now that he might not be able to do later. there is also a brand new law that might help him depending on the circumstances. An attorney can make sure that he protects his rights.
