Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My brother who was seventeen at the time and stool in high school was left homeless because my mother decided to get a one bedroom apartment without telling him. He has been out of three homes and has no where.to go. He is now 18. Also I'm his payee when it comes down to his social security and my mother is taking his checks for her benefit. What do I do?

Your brother is now an adult under Texas law.

The issue regarding your mom moving is probably irrelevant since it appears that your brother has a place to live now.

If you are the payee and receive the check, I don't understand how your mom is taking his checks for her benefit. If you need to change something to make sure you receive the money for the benefit of your brother, then contact Social Security immediately. This problem occurs all the time & they can help you fix it.

I hope this answer helps. You did not provide much information in order to answer it.

Good luck!
