Buy a vehicle for my son
How can i obtain a vehicle for my son while going thru a divorce. How old does he have to be to put a truck in his name? He's 16. A friend wants to give him a truck, is it ok?

Since you are still married, the truck would be community property and would have to be addressed as such. However, there is no reason why the court would dispose of the truck under these circumstances. According to DMV, there is no age restriction for buying a car (except a 16 year old cannot contract) and having title in his name. The problem will arise with insurance, since the insurance company may require the adult parent to be a co-owner of the car.
