Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
My ex is what you would call a "deadbeat dad".Doesnt pay child support, treats my son as a revolving door and only sees him when he feels like being a parent, has an extensive history with illegal drugs and in and out of jail.He lives 2.5 hours from my child and I.I got very frusterated because I needed help paying daycare due to an emergency trip to the dentist to have a tooth pulled (for myself) that left me short on money. He never called me to reply if he could help me or not.I got very frusterated and wrote a letter telling him about himself (which looking back,I should not have done) I also made a comment that I wished he would just leave my son and I alone and stop the emotional pain he is causing him.We go to court for child support enforcement next month,am i going to be in trouble??

I previously answered your question on Avvo. You're instincts are right to tell you not to make intemperate statements in writing (letters, email, text) because they'll eventually cause you some grief. But I wouldn't worry about one letter written in exasperation. If you said anything crazy or threatening in the letter, the story might be different. But just saying "I wish you'd just leave us alone" sounds like an honest expression of exasperation.
Good luck!
