Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I have a canadian court order for alimony and debt repayment for soon to be ex spouse. We both had resided in canada through out our marriage and now he is residing in Texas from where he was from. what is the best avenue to take if the re-enforcement officer in canada is not able to garnish his wages.

The State of Texas does not allow garnishment for debts. We allow garnishment only for IRS, child support and just recently, sometimes spousal support, if prepared properly. You will need to retain the services of a Texas attorney to see if your Canadian order can be enforced in Texas. You would need to go to the county where he resides and see if a judge would sign an order to garnish his wages. Of course, he can quit that job and you will have to go from job to job attaching his wages.
