Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Last name change for a child not being adopted

Will I still get child support if I change my son's last name to my husband's without adoption? I have consent of the biological father.

Re: Last name change for a child not being adopted

Provided that the father IS paying, the change of the child's name will not affect the support obiligation. The only things that would end the support obligation would be death of the child or the obligor or termination of the father's parental rights. Hope this helps.
