Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Change in custody
A few months ago my step-daughter signed document to move to our house. After about 6 weeks her mom made her feel so guilty that she moved back with here mom. Now her mom is offering for her to move back with us and she will in turn pay child support back to us. We are not on board with not having a legal contract in place and are wondering if there is something that the mom can do to keep my step-daughter from having to be the one who signs document and make the mom the victim.

Re: Change in custody
You are absolutely correct to stop putting this child in the middle. If the parents are in agreement, and will sign off, this can be done relativley inexpensively. You need to file a Motion to Modify, and submit a signed wavier of process and Agreed Order of Modification. You may email me directly if you need further information about filing fees, attorney fees and the process itself. TCL
