Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Name Change

I have never had a middle name and would like to add it to all the legal documents. How can I go about doing this? I want to change my name from--name removed--Uddin to--name removed--Obaid--name removed-- I recently got married.

Re: Name Change

You may use any name you wish as long as you are not doing it to defraud someone. If you want to legally change your name on Drivers licence or social security or other legal document then you need to file a petition for name change in the superior court. The clerks have the forms and it is fairly simple to do if you are an adult. It a minor you need your parents consent.
