Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I Want to Change My Mind

The judge signed the divorce decree yesterday. I didn't want to agree to the settlement, but was persuaded by my lawyer. I want to change my mind, what do I do?

You have 30 days from the date the Judge signed to ask for a Motion for New Trial.

Therefore, you need to file something immediately. I would not wait 29 days.

You will need to set a hearing and appear before the Judge to state the reasons a new trial should be granted.

You need to be prepared to pay some of your spouse's legal fees.
