Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

name change for a minor

I live in the state of TX and have full managing conservatory custody of my 14 yr old daughter; she has never met her biological father and is not interested in doing so any time soon; she wants to change her last name to my husband of 11 yrs; can she do this without her biological fathers consent?

or is it easier just to hyphenate my husband last name?

Since your daughter has never met her biological father and her step dad has raised her for the last 11 years, you might also consider an adoption. It would probably be one of the most profoundly moving and important moments that has ever occurred in the lives of your entire family. Just something to consider. Best wishes to all of you.
