Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Name change and moving

I currently live in Texas but our family might relocate to another area for employment. I would like to file to have my first name legally changed but worry about appearing in court months after we have moved. How long does name change process take from date of filing? Court appearance necessary? I live in Tarrant County, Texas.

Re: Name change and moving

Well if you do not have a criminal record, and you are over the age of 18. the good news is there is no waiting period. You do need to go to court but it is a fast appearance. Call me if you want to do it at 817 821-0945. I charge $250.00 for a name change plus costs. I think the costs are about $130.00 these days in Tarrant County.
