name change
My step son was using his birth name but at age 8 was adopted by his moms new husband.He is 18 years old now and got his drivers licence under his birth name,he was also know with his adoption name through school,but is going to a new school this year where I live.what does the law say about that? His mom never changed his ss# or birth certificate.He wants to o by his birth name

He needs to pick one name and use that name.
He can't switch back and forth.
It sounds like his id's are in his birth name.
If he needs to, he can do an adult name change. It's much easier than a minor child's name change.
