Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Changed Possession Articles

I have a court order for minor child possession that was done back around the turn of this century (smile). I have been told that the Texas Family Law realm has updated its content in the area of Minor Child Possession which is better suited to serve the child; a situation which may significantly relieve my current circumstances a possession ORDER which allows the minor child to be exchanged between parents like a badminton bird without regard for issues related to the childs schooling and activities. The father is uncooperative, passive-aggressive & believes that his part in procreation was proxy for daddy of the week award for life. I merely want the clearest, most current & fairest possession ORDER that will benefit the child for which the parenting is shared. Here are my simple questions; however, please feel free to elaborate where you believe it is relevant and appropriate: (1) Since 2000, are there new Texas Family possession articles for ORDERS relating to Parent-JMC situations? (2) What is the most direct (quickest, least expensive & fewest dalliances) path of engagement for having new possession articles replace those currently in-place? (3) What is a faithful estimate of the cost (or Hours) for this work?

Re: Changed Possession Articles

(1) There probably haven't been enough changes to the SPO (standard possession order) since 2000 to solve your issues - kids still have to go from parent to parent; (2) have an ex who will agree to everything you want and then do an agreed modification; (3) there is no way to tell - it all depends on how hard he fights you.

You really need to go sit down with a copy of your previous order and a good family law attorney and review your options. Many will talk to you initially for little or no cost.
