Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
changing place of residency
my son is 14 and wants to live with me and my wife, but does not want to go court. will we have to go to court and let the judge make that decision, or is there other means of changing his primary residency, and can this be contested?

Re: changing place of residency
The only way to permanently change custody (and child support) is through a Court Order. Your son is old enough to indicated who he wants to live with, but the Judge is not bound by his wishes. Before you do anything else, you really should go talk to a good family law attorney in your area and explore your options.
