Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My ex has been charge with aggraveted assualt with a deadly weapon, cps got involved and gave custody of my daugther and made me pay child support when im the victim. Are there any laws stating that a person with criminal charges not be allowed to have custody ?

No. The basic rule from the Family Code is "best interest of the children."
