charge for child abuse

i hit with belt and child was mark. my stepson grandmother took him to the hospital and hospital call the cops and cps came with a police and we (my wife and i) talk to cps was told that they would be a case thru cps for 30 day only was asked not to dicipline the kids with spanking and to take kid to their check up and was told dectective will be coming by. will they charge me with child abuse. the first time that i have hit my stepson with a belt. what will happen.

They might charge you with abuse. Do not speak with the detective until you have hired a lawyer.
